You're still married...and there is no "next" - unless someone files a new action for a divorce.

You can still obtain a divorce in NY from your husband on others grounds.

If your husband is abusive you can claim cruelty as a ground for your divorce.

You do not have to wait for your husband to obtain the divorce.
