No will Do we need to appoint an Executor

my uncled passed recently. We dont think there is a will, we have not found one. Do we neeed to appoint a executor ? My uncle was not married and has no children.

he has a sister and brother.

Beneficiaries are on most of his papers...

In the absence of a will the procedure is Administration. The Administration clerk in the Surrogate's Court in the county in which death occurred will help the family to obtain letters of administration. Or, the family can hire an attorney.
