after a will is executed is there time limits on tranfering ownership on a deed. Ownership on a property in name only was not done the lawyer failed to carry this out its been 19.5 years since my father death is it to late

Did the will go to probate? Was an executor appointed? Was the executor discharged?

There is no time limit on an executors duty.

I agree that it is never too late. Presuming the Will was probated and the Executor is still around, all that needs to be done is a simple Executor's Deed to correct the title. If the Executor is not available, and no successor is available, the heirs can do this as heirs at law and next of kin. The latter is more complicated as spouses, if any, should also sign the Deed.
