Legal Question in DUI Law in North Carolina

Getting my PA license reinstated

I hired an attorney to get my license reinstated in 2007. It was on the way of getting done, I got the paperwork saying so. Then in Aug 07 I was driving in Halifax county, NC and got pulled for speeding, and DWI, it was a .09. I hired a lawyer from Halifax, NC to represent me because I live in PA Some time later I got a FTA notice. I did not get any letters saying I needed to appear in court. I paid this lawyer $200 and he wants an additional $1300. I did not get my PA license reinstated because now NC is holding that process up. I need to know how to proceed with this situation, can you help??

Thank you,

Robert Miller

Re: Getting my PA license reinstated

The license suspension penalties under the Uniform Drivers License Compact are according to the home state which for you is Pennsylvania. I think you want to get back into contact with your Pennsylvania lawyer concerning your drivers' license. As for the failure to appear, that is best handled by the attorney you hired in NC.
