Legal Question in Immigration Law in North Carolina

Green Card Processing Times

My employer is sponsoring me for a Green Card through the Texas Processing Site. It was submitted for Labor Certification in April, 2003. It is my understanding that this particular location is back-logged with work, and that there are two more steps that need to be completed before I get my Green Card. In conclusion, how back-logged are they, and when will I be able to get my Green Card?

Re: Green Card Processing Times

You have to check with the office where the Labor Certification was filed. The labor certification is not filed with BCIS, but with the Department of Labor. When that gets approved, then your employer can file with BCIS.

Right now the Texas Service Center Processing time for the I-140 is a little under a year for First Preference and about 7 months for 2nd Preference.

Then you file the I-485 to adjust status to Permanent Residence - the whole process could take a couple of years.
