Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Ohio
Bankruptcy exemptions
In Ohio if I owe 30000 dollars in credit card debt and owe 40000 dollars on a home and have a income of SSI at 1250 dollars per month can I file bankruptcy and keep my home if I still pay on the 40000 dollars?

Re: Bankruptcy exemptions
It all depends on how much equity you have in your home. You are entitled to an exemption of $5000. If you have equity far in excess of $5000, you may have a problem. I can't tell you more without knowing the entire picture.
