If your company is an LLC can a person be held ''personally'' liable for company affairs? Can a person have a lawsuit filed against them on a personal level as well as a company level?

The purpose of establishing an LLC is to avoid personal liability. As long as the proper formalities are followed, the members of an LLC do not have personal liability for general business debts. Generally, anyone with check writing authority is responsible personally for sales taxes, and taxes withheld from employees' paychecks.
