Waive right to speedy trial
My grandson's lawyer has entered a motion and entry to waive his right to a speedy trialt does this mean, please!

In Ohio, a person charged with a crime has the right to be tried within a certain time. The amount of time depends upon the crime charged, However, a person can waive or give up that right. That is what has happened in your grandson's case.
