Legal Question in Personal Injury in Ohio

statutes of limitations for sexual assault civil suit

I was sexually assaulted in 1976 in toledo ohio by four teen boys, one of whom I knew. Then in 1985, in florida, I was raped in my bed by my neighbor, whom I knew.

In 1986 I was raped by another acquaintance, in florida. I just won SSI for complex PTSD. I am in therapy, have been since Feb 00. I want to sue the men who attacked me for damages. I had quite a bit of repressing of the memories, not ever altogether, but sort of vague awareness the event happened. I never reported these attacks to police. I did report the final rape to a local church's marriage and family counselor, who told me I needed to "work on forgiveness" and offered no further assistance. I have information sufficient to locate ALL of the men who attacked me, at least the ones known to me (three of the four who attacked me when I was 13 were strangers). please advise if I have any chance of initiating this litigation.

Re: statutes of limitations for sexual assault civil suit

Let me begin by saying that I am sorry for what you have gone through it sounds absolutely horrible. But to answer your question I am afraid that the statute of limitations to file suit has expired on this type of assault. I know that is not want you want to hear hopefully your therapy is helping and that you can ease some of your feelings through other avenues.
