home ownership

my sisterinlaw and i are half owners of a house and property which we inherited about a year ago. we inherited house and property from my parents now deceased.she and i do not get along. what can i do to get out of this? i would like to retain ownership if at all posible but in any case need to end this.

You should do everything possible to work this out with your sister. I would suggest that you draft an Offer to purchase her 1/2 interest. If you can't come to an agreement on that, then you could file a partition action with the Court and they will put the property up for sheriff's auction. You both would have a right to bid on the property. Highest bidder gets the property. I would contact an attorney to help you work through these issues.
