Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Ohio

Property Owner Responsibilities

I own my house next door to an apartment complex with tenants who drink, are disruptive, damage my property and have had repeated police interventions. The owner only seems interested in collecting his rent - what are my rights as a property owner?? Thank you.

You could keep calling the police and then call the building or health department to make a complaint.

Re: Property Owner Responsibilities

Most municipalities have anti-noise ordinances which can be enforced through the local police department or through the local prosecuting attorney. As a practical matter, some municipalities will enforce these ordinances and others will not.

In terms of a private right of action, you could bring suit against the adjoining landowner alleging nuisance and requesting an injunction.
