Power of Attorney
My stepdad just notified me that the individual assigned his power of attorney (to pay his bills) has just placed her name on his checks. He says he did not authorize this action and cannot get anyone from their office to return his call stating why this was done. Is there any reason that this would need to be done?

Re: Power of Attorney
Sure there are reasons, some valid, some suspect. The bottom line is that he needs to be SURE his money is not being misused or misappropriated. Giving anyone access to his money carries some risk. He should talk to his bank, and to a local attorney, to make sure he knows what is going on and what to do.
