Ageplay Internet Fantasy Between Adults

Is it legal for consenting adults to participate in text-based ageplay fantasy over the internet? Ageplay consists of pretending to be younger characters and writing about sexual play.

Re: Ageplay Internet Fantasy Between Adults

You may have some explaining to do from time to time, but if people are in fact adults and both people in fact know the other is an adult and the stuff is not in any way available to third parties (such as in an IRC communication), then there is no way anyone would find out what you're doing. But guess what!

People get caught doing things like that because they're NOT discreet, and they DON'T know who the other person is, and it ends up being a case for the criminal courts when the "play" involves pedophilia. Your best bet, in light of the recent supreme court decision, is to leave that sort of thing off the internet, but given the above constraints, it is probably protected by the first amendment.
