Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania

child custody

I have a grandson whose parents, unmarried, have no custody agreement. If the father wishes to take physycal custody, is there any legal reason to prevent him from doing so. I thank you for your answer to this question.

Re: child custody

It is best for your granddaughter to get a court order which states that she has custody. The police can then enforce this order if there are any problems.

Usually police will not get involved in domestic/custody disputes, especially if there is not any court orders. It is best for your granddaughter to get primary physical custody for the child.
