Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania

Family Pets

My mother bought my brother and I a dog 8 years ago. My parents recently split up and my dad took the dog with him to my parents house. My mom bought the dog but my dad refuses to give her back to me or my mom. If I were to go to my grandparents house and take her, could I be charged with kidnapping? Her name tag has my moms address on it so I don't feel like I would be doing anything wrong. I just want to bring her home.

Re: Family Pets

No the charge would no be kidnapping as the dog is not a person. If any thing it would be theft by taking. For that to happen someone would have to file a police report.

If anything you should talk to your father as to why you can't have your dog back.

If you have any questions feel free to contact me. The initial consultation is free.
