Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania

Order of protection

To Whom It May Concern:

I have been married for 12 years, We have three young children and I am 5 months pregnant. my husband walked out on me approximately 3 months ago and abandoned me and my children. I want to know what I have to do to obtain an order of protection against him? He calls me at least three to four time a day and he tells me on my voice mail that if I do not let him talk to his kids I will be sorry. I am sorry but I take that as a threat. and I am scared to be alone with three boys and pregnant. He is living in another state but he also keeps threatening to take my kids out of state. I already filed for custody and child support. Do you have anymore suggestions? Thank You for taking the time to read this I understand how busy you are and it is greatly appreciated.

Cordially, Mrs. Quackenbush

Re: Order of protection

Mrs. Quackenbush; you are pursuing your rights as you should. It is not likely that a judge would give you a PFA order based on threatening telephone conversations with a man in another state. For the conversation alone to suffice he should have the present ability to harm you. If he shows up, you can use the conversations against him. Don't answer the telephone. Let him record his messages. Pursue your confirmation of custody action.
