Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Pennsylvania

filing a complaint

Purchased sofa from consignment store. Got it homeand found out it was broken. Tool it back to the store and was told that I would get my money whwn it sold. No money yet, District court ruled in my favor. Now she is appealing the decision. I'm told that I have 20 days to file a complaint. She said that because she was a cooperation she doesn't have to pay. This started out in march of 07 and she has since sold the business. I am completely lost at this point. I can't even find a complaint form. Thanks

Re: filing a complaint

You should follow through with the complaint. She would have to raise the corporation defense in arbitration. If she sold the business she would have had to give you notice under the bulk transfer act. If not you might be able to collect from the buyers. The complaint form should be available at the prothonotary in your county.
