Mechanic's lien

I have made a contract with this contractor to fix my gazibo. as per the contract reads '' lift and temporarily support the gazibo roof. Disassemble the Gazebo posts and railings. Install additional farming and blocking beneathe the deck to support and fasten the gazebo. assemble the gazebo and roof trim and install fascia boarda around the perrmeter of the gazebo deck. note the existing gazebo roof will not reconstructed''. I also asked him to do few extra things which he was agree but not included in contract words. i also paid him sum of $610.20 as a deposit and buying a material. he fasten the gazebo post and railing but not doing finish the job and asking a full payment. if i dont pay him he is thrateing to file a mechanic's lien on my property. your repsopnse will be greately appricated.

Mechanics liens can be filed without the court deciding a dispute. If he is demanding payment and will not finish the job you could win a suit which would disolve the lien. If he wants payment to finish the job the actual contract language should spell out whether or not he is entitled to payment prior to or after completion. I offer free consultations.
