Legal Question in Immigration Law in Pennsylvania

I am a green card holder, my girl friend is doing her PHD from a different State. Can I process her Green Card if we get married while she is studying or will she be legible for a green card once she finishes her PHD. Also if she moves universities what will she need to do.

No, she cannot process her green card because she is not eligible for adjustment of status either as your girfriend or a wife at this time.

You have to become a US citizen, in order for your wife to be eligible for adjustment of status.

As a wife of a permanent resident, there will be a long wait involved.

As a permanent resident, you can file an I-130 Petition to sponsor your wife, but there will be a long wait period before she will be eligible to file for permanent residency. The best approach would be for you file for your citizenship, and then after you are married, to file for her. You can contact us at 215_242_3830 to schedule a phone consultation.
