Legal Question in Employment Law in Pennsylvania

Discrimination/ Labor Law

I was hired by this company after I had worked in the computer industry for more than 25 years. When I was offered this job they had promised me that I would be responsible for developing their marketing department as a sales person in the selling of mid range computer equiptment and would eventually be the manager of this business unit. At that time they had me sign a non compete agreement after I had told my former employer that I was leaving. Therfore denying me the opportunity to make a rational decision.

After developing their business unit for the past two years I was told by my manager that they want to develope the younger people and specifically those in their 30's to take on the managment roll.

In addition, my Vice President of Marketing told me during my job review that at my age (59) i had little alternatives and subsequently anything I wanted to discuss was "non negotiable".

Furthermore, my manager told me that I cant leave for another company within the industry otherwise I would be sued since I signed a non compete agreement.

Please advise...
