Legal Question in Employment Law in Pennsylvania

Interviewing my own replacement?/

My boss insists that I interview people to replace me even though I have no experience interviewing. Can this be classified as harrassment? What can my employer do if I refuse to do this? Is it will-ful misconduct(as far as unemployment-incase I get fired?) Everyone in the office knows that this is going on. My boss is doing this to make me feel like an idiot. I have held this job for 15 years and he just bought the company in Nov 2008

Re: Interviewing my own replacement?/

If an employee refuses to do what is requested by a boss or manager etc and the request is reasonable a failure to carry out the request could very well be considered as a deliberate failure to carry out a request and constitute willful misconduct. Each instance turns on the facts. Since you re apparently leaving the job amyway I would suggest you grin and bear it and interview applicants. Your boss I persume will have the ultimate say on who is hired. unless there are some additional facts I do not not know
