Legal Question in Employment Law in Pennsylvania

should i get my own lawyer?

I am a manager. One of my staff was terminate because he used a company purchase order to buy inappropriate consumer electronics items. This employee is now sueing our company, my boss's boss, and myself for slander and libel.

Should I rely on my employer to use their high priced lawers to protect me or should I get a lawyer?

In most circumstances you should hire your own attorney because your interests may differ from those of the company. For example, if you do not have the ultimate authority to hire and fire and the decision was made at a higher level that is a defense specifically applicable to you and the company's attorneys may choose not to raise it for you because it doesn't make any difference to the company.
