Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Pennsylvania
Security Deposits
My lease ended on June 03, 2006. As of today, August 1, I have no recieved any word, list or check in regard to my security deposit. I gave a letter with my address/contact info on it with my May rent check, including a remidner of my 60-day notice given in March. I did not send it certified. So, on Tuesday July 25, I sent a certified letter with my address again, assuring the Landlord had it. As of today, I still have not heard from him. Do I have to wait longer/give him grace, since there is no confirmation that he recieved the address in May? I have had lots of issues with him during my stay there, he was very negligent. What do I do from here?
Thank you!

Re: Security Deposits
The landlord has 30 days from the end of the lease, or when you vacated the property, whichever is later, to return the security deposit, and/or an itemized "bill" detailing the reason(s) and amount of the security deposit that is not being returned.
Re: Security Deposits
One more thing. Since it has now been almost 60 days, you can file a complaint against the landlord with the magisterial district judge in the area where the apartment was seeking double your security deposit.
