Social Security Benefits

I was recently released from State prison after an extended stay(15 years), I have no money or income. I worked my whole adult life prior to my conviction. My question is, am I eligible for any SSI or disability until I get back on my feet? With the new laws, employers want to do background checks, which I won't pass.

If you have a physical or mental disability that prevents you from working, you may be eligible for SSI. Because you have not paid FICA or Social Security tax in 15 years, you have lost your eligibility for Disability.
