Legal Question in Traffic Law in Pennsylvania

Citizen issued citation > I was driving down on a road that eventually splits into a two lane semi-highway with barriers. Its also uphill when it splits so u cant see completely over the hill. As i got to the top of the peak where the lanes turn into 2, i proceeded to get in the left lane traveling 45 mph in a 45 mph posted speed. there was a car in front of me doing about 35mph, so i started to slow down. as i got about 3-4 car lenghts behind him, he decided to brake check me/spike his brake HARD. no worries, i was def not close enough to him, so i hit my brakes with about half full force, didnt even come close to the guy. the car next to me noticed his actions and slowed down to get away from the situation, this left the right lane open, so i decided to pass him on the right. as i drove by him, i laughed at him and got back in the left lane in front of him. I then proceeded to speed back up to the speed limit. long story short, he followed me for about 2.78 miles when i finally lost him in traffic. i was then called by the cops asking me to come back home cause they wanted to talk to me. i told them what happened and how i tried to avoid the situation by getting away from the guy and they told me he wanted to press charges, and i would be getting a citation in the mail for careless driving. meanwhile i asked to press some sort of charges against him for reckless driving and harassment, but they said I couldnt because i did not call the cops "FIRST". what are the chances this can even stick? the cops didnt see anything, he was alone in the car, and i had two of my friends in my car. should i take them to court with me? i thought friends and family dont count as witnesses.

Take your friends with you. Friends and family can be witnesses. Chances are the guy won't show up, though.
