Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Pennsylvania

Hi...I understand that in Pennsylvania an executor of an estate is entitled to a fee of around 3 to 4 percent. The estate consists of a house. It sells for $200,000. There are $100,000 in outstanding debts and taxes. Which amount is the executor fee calculated from? Thank you.

3% is a general rule of thumb and its up to the Orphan's Court based on the size and complexity of the estate. There is a fee chart below which suggests:

EXECUTOR COMMISSIONS Per Col. Per Total

$ 200,000.01 to $ 1,000,000.00 3% 24,000.00 33,000.00

You would use the $200,000 figure
