Legal Question in Workers Comp in Pennsylvania

What benifits am i entitled to when doctors say i can"t work?

I work for a major security co. While on duty tour of buildings i entered a mechanical room which was flooded and slipped and fell. i reported incident instantly by radio and all proper paperwork was submitted to my employer. there is no problem with this so far. I went to an assigned doctor for comp and was told after mri and x-rays that i need a hip replacement. i was also sent to a surgen in this field and all doctors agree. the workerscomp insruance company denied my claim in writing to me. they told me i have the right to contest this decision (i understand all that). my question and problem is what do i live on and pay bills with until i can file paperwork. i have now been off work over 35 days. filing a court case can take months or more. i am being told by my area manager if i don't like it, quit my job and go on welfare.. This is out of the question, there must be a better legal way to help me recieve benifits to live on until i can have the operation and return to work. PLEASE HELP !!!!

I dislike being this short, but --get to an attorney asap. Your denial is obviously being made on some type of medical issue. An attorney will try to help you get through other issues. Unless you have some type of disability insurance, you are out of luck and the insurance company knows it.
