Legal Question in Workers Comp in Pennsylvania

Medical care after work comp

I have a question about medical care after someone has been on workmens comp. When you are released from your doctor after an W C injury, how long do you have coverage by WC insurance if it is a permenent injury? Does at some point after a set period of time your personal insurance take over care of any future problems you may have? For instance if you settle a comp claim with a C&R at what point does your personal ins take care of treatment if ever? Thanks

the "release" by the doctor is a fact but of no other legal effect. it is up to the WCJ when your beneifts expire. in general, you have 3 years after a claim is recognized to bring a bill for presentment.

if you have done a C&R however, my informed hypothesis is that all medical reimbursement rights have been relinquished; otherwise it would have been termed a Commutation.

best luck
