Legal Question in Family Law in South Carolina

South Carolina Divorce Laws

I was wondering what is needed to file for divorce in South Carolina. How long you need to live in the state, what about alimony, child support, custody of son? If one spouse takes a vacation is it considered abandonment? Is there a specific time frame to be separated, do you have to be separated before you file for divorce? Just the basics of what needs to be done please.

Thanks

Re: South Carolina Divorce Laws

I'm sorry, but your question would take hours to answer. There is no basic, simple answer to child support, alimony and child support. If you could narrow down your questions I would be happy to try and help. To just give the "basics" can't really be done. The law is just too involved in these areas. Actually, given the wide range of your questions, it would probably be best if you contacted any attorney and consulted with him/her. You seem to have a lot of issues which cannot be practically answered here. Good luck.
