Legal Question in Employment Law in Tennessee

Laid off and replaced for no reason other than job position elminated

I was laid off by my company on Feb 2nd and they said it was because the job position was eliminated - ''Temporary layoff lack of work load'' . However, I learned 2 days later they moved someone else to take my position. I've always had valued performance - I honestly feel I was discriminated against. I wasn't born in the US and I am not a US citizen, however my replacement is a US born. Do I have a legal leg to stand on?

You may have some legal remedy for this wrong. Generally, a position elimination is one of the more difficult adverse employment actions to dispute, but if the position was not eliminated, then there may be grounds for taking some sort of action.
