Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas

I was arrested almost 16 months ago for a class a misdemeanor assault. I'm not sure but I think it was a family violence charge. My question is that I have yet to receive a court date. I tried to enlist in the Army and could not get a disposition after multiple attempts. I don't know if it was dropped or dismissed. I don't know if there is a statue of limitations. I want to enlist, but I can't unless I get this taken care of.

You need to hire a criminal defense attorney to look into this for you.

The strange thing here is that you are obviously not in jail. Once arrested, the only way out of jail that I know of is to be released on a bail bond, be convicted and serve your time or be placed on probation or to have your case dismissed.

If you are out on bond, you bondsman should know of your court dates. If you have any information on which court the case is in, the court clerk should be able to tell you the statust of the case.
