Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas

I received a Class A Misdemeanor for Assault & Battery / Family Violence roughly 2 years ago. I was put on 1 1/2 yr deferred adjudication which has now been over for about 6 months. Am I able to have this record espunged or sealed and if so what cost am I possibly looking at? The conviction was in Austin, TX.

You are not eligible for an expunction since yoo plead to the offense and you are not eligible for a non-disclosure since family violence offenses do not qualify.

If you were to obtain a pardon, then you would be eligible to have your record expunged. You can get more information on pardons from the website for the bureau of pardons and parole. You need to contact an attorney experienced in the area.

I am not sure if you can obtain a pardon, since you received deferred adjudication and were therefore never convicted. Pardons usually apply to convictions. You can get more information on pardons from the website for the bureau of pardons and parole.
