Legal Question in DUI Law in Texas

Being found not guilty on a DWI,will it be on my record

I have a friend that recently had to go to trial for a DWI, he is a member of the fire department. The jury found him not guilty of the charge. He is concerned about this showing up on his record as an arrest and what the arrest was for if he every decides to get another job. Does he need to pay someone to exsponge this off of his record or will it not show at all since he was found not guilty by a jury trial.

Ms. Jones, Yes his attorney should have told him to file an expungement lawsuit in the nearest district Civil Court where the original charges were filed. The Expungement suit is a civil lawsuit filed suing every law enforcement and criminal justice agency that may have any information regarding your friend's arrest and the subsequent charges. Additionally, his lawyer should have contacted DPS, regarding the verdict, if your friend's license was suspended as a result of the Administrative License Revocation Hearing. A not guilty judgement in a DWI case is the one document that will erase any suspension from an individuals driving record because of either not giving a breath test or taking the breath test and failing.
