Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

free consultation

my client went to consult an attorney regaring his divorce, 6 months prior to hiring me. his wife fired her old attorney and hiring the attorney the my client consulted with. isnt wife's new attorney barred fron representing her. my client has no paperwork or proof that he consulted wife's new attorney because consultation was free. of coarse, new attorney just received a huge retainer an has memory loss regarding my client...my client has a speach impediment and he should remember him even with seeing many other clients............i mentioned this to opposing counsel and he faxed me back a letter threatening to personally sue me for interferring with his contractual relationship with his client.
