Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Separartion

If I leave the house to stay somewhere else till we can work this problem out, then if we can't work it out. Do I lose out on my share of everthing we have?

Re: Separartion

I assume you live in Texas.

I charge $100 to sit down with you for an hour before you do anything and go over Texas law with you.

It will give you some peace of mind and let you know what you need to do to protect yourself.

Re: Separartion

The simple answer is that you will not lose your property rights by moving out. However, before moving you should consult with an attorney and understand what the divorce process is all about. I have included a section about a divorce in Texas on my personal website. I am a board certified specialist in the field of family law practicing here in the Houston area. I would be glad to sit down with you and answer all of your questions concerning your rights. I will not charge you for the initial consultation, whether in person or by telephone. If you have children, I would suggest that you not move from the home before consulting an attorney. It might be easier for the Court to order your husband to move from the home if you are going to be the custodial parent. If you are interested in visiting more concerning these matters, please contact me directly.
