Legal Question in Medical Leave in Texas

Vestibular (Inner Ear/Balance) Disorders

I am trying to find out if vestibular disorders are covered by the FMLA. I have had several episodes in the past and am currently experiencing problems at this time. Headaches, nausea, dizziness, unsteady gait, ears feel full and ringing. About 2 years ago after a particularly bad spell where I was on bedrest for 3-4 days, it was also found that I have a documented hearing loss that was never there before. I have seen several specialist, but so far no one can quite decided what is wrong. Since these conditions are not present every single day, only occasionly, would this fall under a serious health condition as stated in the FMLA? There are times when I am completely incapacitated for days at a time. Driving is impossible due to the dizziness and spinning feeling. Please let me know what you can.

Yes. You should be able to get the periodic leave that the FMLA provides.
