becoming legal

I came over to the us about 4yrs ago on a R b1/b2 visa which has now expired. What steps should i take in order to become a legal immigrant? My home country is grenada.

usually one would need to have a basis for applying for permanent residence. Either through immediate relative US citizen or permanent resident or an employer. However, as you are out of status, you will not be able to adjust your status in the US. Do you have an employer willing to sponsor you or a relative?
