Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Texas

I live in Texas. My two cousin were just found dead in their house. I'm not sure if they have a will. How do I go about becoming ex. of their estate. We need to get their taxes paid for their home. They have a checking account but I am not on it.

I'm sorry to hear about your cousins. To become an administrator of an estate, you must petition the appropriate probate court. You also have to prove that there is a need for an administration, and that you are the most appropriate choice. Were the cousins married? Any children? Any other debt besides the house taxes? There may be less expensive options.
