Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in United Kingdom

debt

my boyfriend signed, as he was very distressed at the time and didnt realise,a paper saying he owes 10 000 to his ex-girlfriend, a lawyer.

He received a judgement in absentee saying he had to start paying back that sum from June 2007, he didnt realise this was judgement and let it go.

At the date of today, can he claim this and hopefully reverse that judgement as he does not owe that money and has been careless due to emotional distress?

What do you think?

Re: debt

Hi

If your boyfriend is able to satisfy a court that he signed under duress or there was undue influence upon him then this admission could be discounted and there would be grounds for having the judgement set aside. I would need to know far more about the circumstances before advising definitively however. Please do not hesitate to get in touch if you require further advice and assistance.
