if there is two people named as executors in will but one has asked to serve notice that they will be applying for grant of probate in her name alone what legal right do l have to ask for joint probate

You have every right to a grant of probate as a joint executor and you should both apply and put the probate Registry on notice of your intention to take up a grant.
