Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Virginia

There is an arrest warrant for me for an unpaid bill. I did receive the summons, and I did not show to court. I am suppose to meet the deputy sherif tomorrow morning, and I will get arrested. Do I need a lawyer? He said I will go in front of a magistrate and he will determine what's next. Please help!! I have never had this happen to me before

Yes, you need a lawyer. You will be taken into custody and held until you either answer the questions posed, pay the judgment, or post a bond sufficient to ensure your appearance. If you pay the judgment or file bankruptcy before then, you may be able to avoid the arrest. A lawyer should be able to assist in avoiding your arrest or expediting your release.
