Legal Question in Criminal Law in Virginia
Circumstantial evidence regarding hit and run
I had a hit and run on my vehicle and want to know if I have enough evidence to persue reinbursement of my insurance claim from party in question. Person was visiting neighbor late on a weekend. My vehicle was in front of my house. Where person was parked, if he was to back out, he would run directly into my vehicle where it was damaged. My car has transfer marks of his car color. His car has transfer marks of my car color. Matter was investigated by military police, but the person never admitted to the hit and run. Two other neighbors say they saw the car parked there, but no one saw the accident. I went to my car at 10:30 that night and it was fine. Person arrived at neighbors about midnight and left before morning. I come outside for work at 6:30 a.m. and see the damage. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Circumstantial evidence regarding hit and run
If you have photos of the corollative marks on each car, you might have a provable case. Without those, and in the absence of anyone who saw anything significant, I would say probably not.
