Abandonment and desertion

If I decide I cant live with my spouse anymore and want a separatiom and I leave the residence to live with my parents is that considered grounds for abandonment or desertion? If so why and if not than what does it really mean?

No, not too likely as along as you maintain some contact with your spouse, and don't secrete your whereabouts. (It would be preferable, of course, to have a written agreement regarding your proposed separation from your spouse.)
