Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

Is dividing retirement funds suppose to be made final before the divorce is finalized? I have paid my lawyer $7500 and he still wants more money from me and wants me to be the one to contact the retirement companies.

Yes, normally, so, if these particular funds are determined to be

marital property under Virginia law. (The fee arrangements between
