Divorce question
My soon to be ex wife and I both live in texas, can she file for divorce in another state, specifically Virginia?

I don't know about the laws of Virginia. Most states have residency requirements in order to file for divorce. For instance, in TX, a person must live in TX for 6 months and in the county where the divorce is filed for 90 days. But, specifically, she could conceivably file for divorce in VA, and if not contested, the divorce could be granted there.

She would have to establish residency in Virginia, meaning she would have to live here at least six months before the court would exercise jurisdiction in your divorce case.

To file for divorce you must live in a jurisdiction for at least six months.
