Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

Name Removal

How can I petition to have my name removed from bills?

Is a divorce or annulment required before I begin to petition to have my name removed from the bills?

Re: Name Removal

There normally needs to be some type of formal separation between spouses before each can be "immunized" (if you will) against and held harmless for the debts of the other.

Furthermore, one does not normally "petition" to

have one's name removed from bills jointly incurred by both spouses.
