If I was accused of trespassing on a property and was not apprehended can i be charged based on hearsay, if i wasn't on the property?

The person who claims to have seen you trespassing on this property could inform the owner of what s/he allegedly saw and based upon this allegation, the owner could file a complaint with local law enforcement against you for this alleged crime.
