Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Virginia

I entered into a 12 month apartment lease agreement. The apartment manager told me that I was being added on as a room mate. I am at the 6 month point of the agreement, but due to financial/personal reasons would like to get out of the agreement. My name does appear on the lease and I did sign it. There are a couple of early termination clauses for military members, but none for anything else. My question was that since I am considered a room mate can i legally exit? Or do I have to tough out the next 6 months? Thank you for your help.

No, Bro, on these facts, looks like you'll have "to tough out the next 6 months"

unless you can get the landlord to agree to release you early from the lease without penalty.
