Legal Question in Sexual Harassment in Virginia
Does 'touching', e.g. slapping on behind, constitute a lawsuit?
I am representing four other employees, as well as myself, and I have a question about how far to go with this. All of us have been sexually harrassed, e.g. rubbed up against, slapped on behind, and sexual flirations by the manager where we all work. Not only that, he has told me several times that I am too old to work there, yet continues to 'fondle'. Have I got a case? I have not gone to the head office about this yet. I am about to send off a letter to them describing the events, fully documented with dates, and a follow-up phone call. What I would like to know is this. I know I as well as the other employees stand a chance on getting fired as he reminds us every day, and am considering hiring a lawyer and taking them to court. My employer is a well-known franchise and would hurt their name as well as their business, but I feel I don't have any other choice. Does this warrant a good law case before I take further steps?

I would advise that you schedule a consultation
with an attorney who understands federal and state
law as it may apply to your sexual harassment allegations.
The attorney will be able to help you (as well as your co-workers) decide in which direction you may wish to take this matter.
