Legal Question in Family Law in California

paternity

We live in California. My son was served with child support papers from Michigan. 3 children only 1 is his. Can he get a paternity test here and have the results be a legal result if he sends them to Michigan.

Your question is really one of jurisdiction. The first thing you should do is have a Michigan attorney bring a motion to object to jurisdiction. If that is successful then the action will need to be brought here. Then your son can request a paternity test. If that action is unsuccessful then a paternity test can be performed here without your son having to go to Michigan.
